Estimate of Organ Equivalent Dose Used in IREP to Calculate the Probability of Causation

Organ Equivalent Dose (Sv) = Absorbed Organ Dose (cGy) x Radiation Effectiveness Factor (REF) 100

This step takes into account additional uncertainties associated with radiation effectiveness factor (REF) for a given type of radiation. The equivalent dose (cSv) provided by the user is used to obtain an absorbed dose (cGy), which is further multiplied by an uncertain REF for different radiation types. The factor of 100 converts cSv to Sv.
